You'll know if it's the right one. If you come home to someone who asks how your day has been, and always keeps a smile on your face, then you might be getting somewhere. It also is very important that the person is in common with you, and understands everything you tell them. It's one thing for them to not know what you're talking about and act nice by trying to understand. But it's a completely different thing for the person to understand you fully to feel the same way you do. But overall....Don't get together with a jerk that only cares about themself.What are some qualities that you think are important in a spouse or partner?
In a vague sense, nearly everyone can agree on some things they think are important: honestly, faithfulness, friendliness, etc.





But beyond that you have to decide for yourself, some people couldn't live with an intellectual, some couldn't live with someone who made them the subject of a joke every five minutes.


Do you want to be someone active or who prefers a quiet night at home?





Is religion important?financial stability?sexual compatibility?





It's a super personal question in that it can vary so widely.
Commitment, Faithfulness, willingness to compromise and talk. I think these will make any relationship work. I know it has for me. Me and my gf have broken up too many times to count but weve had these qualities and we always end up together and in love again and again
Money, honey. Make a strict written contract up front and treat it like an ongoing business. Don't do it unless you want to raise a family. Then spell it out before hand. It always gets messy, even rich people run into trouble. Always happens and it always ends up about money. Get the money thing pinned down. Responsibilities and emergency plans. If you don't, it will not work.
HONESTY is always number one.


Next I think sincerity, assertiveness, patience, gentle nature, and communicativeness are important.


Oh, and who could ever have a spouse or partner without love of course.
sense of humor, able to forgive, reliable, easy to talk to, caring, responsible, understanding.
